So much new music out today that I may run out of space.
For me, the most eagerly anticipated release of the day has to be the collaboration between David Byrne and Fatboy Slim. These two talented musicians have created a tribute album to former First Lady of Philippines (and shoe connoisseur) Imelda Marcos. Here Lies Love is a 22-song double CD with a host of great guest vocalists: Sharon Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Tori Amos, Camille, Alice Russell, Santigold, and many others. “Deluxe” purchases (either CD or digital) will come with 12o-page book/booklet and 6 videos featuring songs from the album cut to archival footage of Imelda Marcos life in the Philippines. Definitely worth a listen.
I’m really enjoying the latest from Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. I Learned The Hard Way is the latest and this one is not to be missed.
