Welcome to the first day of March and another day of really great music.

Late Nights & Early Mornings is the debut album from Marsha Ambrosius. Remember her? She was a member of British R&B duo Floetry. (The group’s hit “Say Yes” still makes me melt.)  Well, Marsha Ambrosius is back. She may have a new look, but that signature sultry sound still causes fans to swoon.  I anticipate LN&EM doing well, especially given the recent success of her powerful video for the single, “Far Away”. (Catch it here.) One of my favorite treats from the album is a remix of “Butterflies”, a song originally recorded by the late, great Michael Jackson…and written by Ambrosius.

One of my favorite releases this week comes from Sweden’s Lykke Li. Wounded Rhymes is the second full-length release from this alt pop/rock songstress. The diversity of sound and Lykke’s interesting delivery is what I love most about this album. Sometimes upbeat and pop-ish, while other times haunting and moody, it is a unified work, that stands heads above most music out today. Here’s a little taste of her single “I Follow Rivers”.

Other new music out this week from Stateless, Beady Eye, Aaron Lewis, Alexander, Ari Hest, Dropkick Murphys, Papercuts, Lucinda Williams, Devotchka, Harry Connick Jr, Middle Brother, Eisley, Ron Sexsmith, and John Popper.

Next week, look for new music from Lupe Fiasco, Bruce Cockburn, and R.E.M.
