After a six year hiatus, Atlanta’s Music Midtown returns this Fall. The festival bid adieu to the city in 2005 due to financial loss and a seeming lack of support from the community, but true music lovers in the city have been pining for what had come to be Atlanta’s preeminent music event. The event’s rebirth is a scaled down version of what it once was with the festival taking place during one day, as opposed to 2 – 3 days. Also, there will not be countless marquee acts that would rival that of Coachella and Bonnaroo, but this year’s headline acts are definitely nothing to sneeze act. Have you heard of these little groups named The Black Keys and Coldplay? Yeah, those guys. Also scheduled to appear is local act Manchester Orchestra, The Joy Formidable, Cage the Elephant and more. All for $55.
The event takes place on September 24th, returning to Piedmont Park. Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 am. For more information, visit the Music Midtown site.
