I’m trying to contain my excitement about this week’s new releases. I’ve been waiting patiently so that I could share this lot of new music with you.
Great music out this week from my favorite Swedish quartet Little Dragon, Metronomy, the soul-ful Kindred the Family Soul, Vanessa Carlton, Joss Stone (recording on her own label), All Shall Perish, Release the Sunbird (Zach Rogue’s side project), Black Rob, The Bodeans, Eric Church, Atari Teenage Riot and the lovely and talented Kelly Rowland.
The husband and wife duo Kindred the Family Soul is back with a fourth album Love Has No Recession (such a great title. I don’t even create music and I wish that I’d thought of it.) See (and hear) the loving couple do what they do well in the video for the single “Magic Happen”.
I can’t hide my adoration for Little Dragon. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and they never disappoint me. Never. Always staying true to themselves while pushing the envelope creatively, much like is done here on “When I Go Out”.
Metronomy’s The English Riviera is easily one of my favorite albums of the year. Seems like someone else thinks this album has a special something since it made the shortlist for the Barclay Mercury Music Prize. This one is definitely worth a listen.
Next week, look for music from John Hiatt, Mat Kearney, and Fruit Bats. Until then, happy listening.
