The core group of Robert Glasper (keyboards), Casey Benjamin (sax and vocoder), Derrick Hodge (bass), and Chris Dave (drums) are on their game, giving listeners their jazzy interpretations of classic tunes (Sade’s “Cherish the Day”, David Bowie’s “Letter to Hermione”, Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”), as well as laying down the goodness on some original tracks.
